Final Update - 2009 Fall Playoff Bracket
Hoosiers subdue Bullets, claim Fall League Championship
(#1) Hoosiers 54, (#6) Bullets 48
|The Hoosiers were able to build an early lead, maintain it into the half, and hold on for a wire-to-wire championship victory over the Bullets, 54-48. The length of both teams allowed them to dominate the glass on their respective defensive ends and frustrate each other's offensive rythym, keeping it a low-scoring game. Reid Augst led the Hoosiers with 16 points, Adam Branscomb added 11, and Reagan McNeer chipped in 10.|
|After building a seven-point lead at the half, the Hoosiers tacked on the first five points of the second half to gain their biggest margin of 12 points. The Bullets, however, did exactly what they did in their semifinal win, and went on a 10-0 run of their own to cut the lead to two. The game remained tight until late when the Hoosiers converted on consecutive possessions and hit a few free throws, followed by a 3-point dagger from Branscomb with 1:10 remaining to expand the lead to nine. The Bullets then got quick three's from Bowles and Smith, but it was too little to late, as the top-seeded Hoosiers got their revenge against the Bullets and validated their regular season by capturing the Men's Fall League title.|
